Class 13:  Clearwing

Judged by Gerd Bleicher & Henry George

Having come from Europe sixteen years ago I was fascinated with your wonderful Clearwing variety with their beautiful contrasting pure yellow or white wings against their full body colour.  Over my recent visits I have noticed the marking appearing more on the wing as you get size and head qualities but today the winner is a wonderful example of what a Clearwing should be like.

First owned by Tevelein Family (Vic) is a magnificent Clearwing Skyblue cock.  Excellent bird for the variety, good length, wide face, excellent contrast of body to wing.  Really white wings which gave this variety the name.

Second owned by K & B Fulton (Tas) is a Yellow wing Olive Green cock and is one league behind the winning bird but nevertheless a respectable yellow wing with good features as a budgie and very good contrast with clear wings.

Third owned by Matthew Holyoak (NSW) is a Yellow wing Olive cock with good length, deep body colour and acceptable wing markings and still a good bird for the variety.

Fourth owned by Cedric D’Costa (Sth. Qld) is a bit shorter than the third bird with good contrasting wings.  Altogether more substance in the bird is wanted. :
