Judges Comments:

  • As much as we would have loved to put up nice clear capped and clear mantle birds unfortunately birds displaying those features were not as good in quality.  The first four birds are all displaying flecking or ticking to some degree.

  • The first is a hen which showed the entire time. A strong hen with good direction of feather but flecked.  Too strong overall for the flecking to impact.

  • Second bird just would not sit enough.  She is a big strong brute of a hen and I think the breeder will have all the trouble in the world trying to breed with her.  A huge framed hen that would not perch to see her full potential.

  • Third is a green cock which is nice and tidy.  He has a good outline but not of the strength as the two ahead of him.

  • Fourth has a very nice structure.  A tidy long bird with blow and well-presented which assisted on the day.

  • From fifth down the quality tends to fall away in deportment and size.
