Welcome to Budgerigar Council of Tasmania update Issue 3 for the ANBC Nationals to be held at the Country Club Resort, Launceston Tasmania from 24 – 27 May 2024.

REGISTRATIONS

This update announces the opening of registrations for the 2024 National Show - to access the registration form, please visit >>>> http://registration.nationals2024.au <<<<

We hope you find the Registration Form easy to use and submit, should you have any concerns or issues please contact via email info@nationals2024.au   or  0409 257 131.   We are happy to help those that are unable to access via computer by ringing AH on 0409 257 131 and we can complete your registration for you / your party.

Up to 5 persons can be registered at any one submission providing  contact details, zone, options to attend events, dietary requirements, tour options, the pre purchasing lunch options for Saturday and Sunday, and raffle tickets for 2 nights accommodation and Breakfast for 2 at the resort.

The Tour Options and costs are attached as a separate PDF to this update and also available on this website here in PDF format.  The tours are all subject to minimum numbers being reached.  Should a tour be cancelled, we will contact to ascertain if you would like to swap to another tour or given a refund.  The minimum numbers apart from the tour to Cradle Mountain are realistic so we are hopefully each tour may go ahead.   We have not pursued the costings for some of the potential tours as detailed in Update 1 with low numbers not making them viable.

The Resort are also offering pre-purchased lunch options for Saturday and Sunday.  These lunch options will be available for collection downstairs at the conclusion of the judging of the first session on Saturday and Sunday, a short distance from the Show and Viewing Locations at 12.15 pm. 

Other Lunch/Dining Options will be available at the Watergarden Café & Bar, Watergarden Dining, Links Restaurant, Bolters Grill and Bar, Bolters Pizzeria  -  See: Country Club Tasmania - Dining Options 

Raffle prize of two nights accommodation and breakfast for 2 at Country Club Resort has been generously donated by Country Club Resorts.   The raffle will be drawn at the BCT Shield Selection Show on Sunday 19 May.  Winner will be able to use the raffle prize to offset their accommodation already booked or take at a later date at their choosing.  Tickets are available at $5 each on the Registration Form.

NB: The Registration Form does not automatically add each section totals, if you forget a section total you can use the back button to check before submitting the registration form. Alternatively, a copy of your registration will be emailed to the nominated address detailing your choices and costs associated.   Once you have completed the registration form online you can then transfer the payment via EFT - details will be shown at the end of the registration form or below:

BCT LUCKY SQUARE BIRD RAFFLE - 250 SQUARES @ $10 EACH 

Our first lucky square bird raffle will open in February with a  pair of budgerigars from the stud of Jeffrey Leong (Vic).     Squares will be $10 each, do you have a lucky number that could be the winner!   Raffle will be drawn once all numbers have been sold.  NB:  It will be the responsibility of the winner to collect/arrange collection of the pair of birds from the breeder at the winners expense. 

Watch out for the Lucky Square Bird Raffle Update in your emails or follow the Australian National Budgerigar Championship Show Facebook Page to secure your lucky square in this great raffle… who wouldn’t love a pair of birds for $10 bucks !

ACCOMODATION

The venue has “blanked” out all the available accommodation to allow attendees to book, unbooked rooms will be released to the general public on 31 March 2024.  

The Venue has confirmed, it requires a credit card to secure the accommodation booking, no charges will be processed until 48 hours prior to arrival, cancellation is available until 48 hrs prior to arrival to avoid cancellation fees.

Ways to book accommodation:

Online Booking:

Click on the yellow links provided here for the Resort: Resort (where the show/bird room will be) or the yellow link provided here for the Villas: Villas which is a short distance away from the resort with a courtesy bus available between the two options.

Follow the prompts, adding your credit card details to secure the booking.    If you wish to make additional room bookings, if using the online option, each room will need to be booked separately.  You can add notes to the booking or ring Reservations the next day to request any additional details ie two rooms beside each other.  

Phone Booking:

If you wish to phone to secure your accommodation, call Reservations on 1800 635 344  Monday to Friday 8am to 7 pm.  Outside these hours the call may go through to Reception and they may or may not be able to assist. 

When calling please quote the Group Code – Group National Budgerigar Show 2024.  

A credit card will be required to secure the booking.

Travel Distance  from : LAUNCESTON AIRPORT TO VENUE -  Approximately 15 kms – 13 minutes 

Travel Distance from Spirit Of Tasmania (vessel) Terminal or Devonport Airport – Approximately 96 km (1 hr)

Zone Secretaries/ Bird Carers

As a credit card is required to secure the accommodation booking, BCT has not reserved any rooms for zone bird carers.
BCT will contact each Zone to confirm their preferred bird travel arrangements and Zone Bird Carer details at a later date.
