Judges Comments

  • First bird is a powerful bird, a super Sky blue with very long feather, good head width and lovely shoulder.  Whoever prepared this bird did a wonderful job because with such long feathering it is very difficult to bring them into such lovely show condition.  This bird stood out.
  • Second is a lovely Violet cock with good feather, super length and good variety colour and lovely width of head.  He is missing one flight and was penalized for this and moved down but his quality brought him back up to second placing.  He has good width of head and can really lift the cap feather and when he does he is magnificent.
  • Third bird is another Sky Blue cock bird.  He is a long bird but tends to pull in a lot.  When he decides to let go, he is a lovely bird. He is also missing on flight and was penalized accordingly.
  • Fourth is a long bird but was lacking slightly in the body when compared to the three above it.  When this bird lets go, he is a terrific bird but down a little in spots.
  • Fifth bird is shorter but has a lovely face and width of head.  Down a little in body strength and deportment and lacks a little in body size.
  • Sixth bird is our highest placed hen with a strong body.  She is a little ticked but that is only a penalty.  Unfortunately she lacks a little impact.
  • The quality dropped away after that.  The first ten placed birds are quite competitive
